Terms and Conditions

Deposit

Your date is reserved, and your order is confirmed only upon execution of the contract and when AK Cakes receive the deposit. The deposit shall equal 75% of the total balance and is required to reserve the date. The deposit is non-refundable and shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

Final Payment

Payment of the remaining balance, if any, is due before pickup or delivery. We reserve the right to refuse your order if payment is not received before pickup or delivery. Absolutely no refunds shall be granted within 14 days of the event.

Changes

Any changes (design, guest count, flavours, colours, etc.) must be made prior to 14 days of the event. Changes could result in an increase in the total cost, and any additional cost incurred from an order change must be included in the final payment.

Release of Liability

AK Cakes will make every possible effort to create and safely deliver your cake. Once delivery and setup is complete, AK Cakes shall not assume any responsibility for your guests, florist’s caterer’s or any other person’s acts with regard to your cake, or any property damage or injury that occurs as a result of our services and/or provision of your cake. AK Cakes shall have no responsibility for the condition of the cake once delivered to you or your wedding/event venue. High temperatures can adversely affect your cake. You are responsible for arranging with the venue an appropriate spot for the cake, out of direct sunlight and away from unnecessary heat. Cake design is a creative and organic process, and we (AK Cakes) will do our best to replicate and create your selected design as closely as possible.

Use of Photographs

AK Cakes reserves the right to photograph your cake for our own reference, display, or promotional advertising without compensation to you.

Sketches

If a sketch is needed, you are entitled to up to two (2) complimentary revisions (for three totals). If any revisions take place thereafter, additional changes will be provided at $40 per revision. Once your design is finalized, you are required to sign off on your approved sketch.

Cake Pick-Up

Should you choose to pick up your cake, AK Cakes shall not be responsible for damage incurred once the cake leaves the AK Cakes premises. Every 30 minutes late results in a $5 charge. We request you to be on time and respect our time value. The cake will not be hand it over till the late fee is made.

Rentals

Additional items (faux cakes, displays, cake stands, and other rental items) must be returned within 48 hours of the event date stated on the order unless AK Cakes agrees to pick items up. The deposit is refundable provided the rental item(s) is (are) returned in the same exact condition within 48 hours of the delivery time and date. After 48 hours, the deposit shall be forfeited.

Allergies

Our products may contain or come into contact with milk, wheat, nuts, soy, and other allergens. You agree to notify your guests of this risk and hold us harmless for any allergic reactions.
